Kindermusik in the UK and Ireland: News Archive
Kindermusik UK has 100 licensed educators - press release 28th October
In just 2 years the population of Kindermusik educators in the UK has grown to
over 100 as an increasing number of people have become trained to teach this
world leading music and movement programme for children. Educators are now
teaching in many towns in the England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland and even as
far as Gibraltar and the Channel Islands.
When asked the reason for its phenomenal growth - Vanessa Webb, Director
Kindermusik UK Ltd said "it's a combination of the demand parents have for a
high quality, thoroughly researched, proven programme and the fact that its a
low risk business proposition that provides flexible working. We have also built
up a tremendous supportive network of educators and strong training programme."
She believes that Kindermusik will continue to grow as the word spreads
-"Kindermusik is unique in the quality of the teaching and home materials
provided for families and in its broad range of curricula offered. There are
many areas where we still need teachers and there is certainly the demand out
there from parents!"

Janet Anderson was recently invited onto the “Jamie Owen” BBC Radio Wales
morning show to talk about the benefits of Kindermusik. With educators working
in both north and south Wales this was a brilliant opportunity for Kindermusik
to be recognised across Wales.
Jamie asked Janet about the history of Kindermusik, the ages involved, what
effect it has on the child, and played the “Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy” which
showed that different types of music are included.

Early Learning and Kindermusik Monday 15th and Tuesday 16th October 2006
Early Learning Centre's around the country had a Grandparents 'Playtime' session
encouraging grandparents and their grandchildren to play on some of the new
range of toys in store for Christmas. Advertised in SAGA magazine it was a
chance to start some Christmas shopping! Kindermusik teachers supported various
stores and were able to demonstrate what goes on during a typical class with
singing, dancing and lots of instrument playalong ! Remember Kindermusik
classes make an excellent Christmas present, one that will last way past the
holiday season ! Watch out for 2007 when Kindermusik may be visiting stores

Ask your educator about the new programmes on offer by Kindermusik. These
include Kindermusik Family Time - the class for multiple siblings and
Kindermusik ABC for children ( aged 2 to 4 years) in a nursery or daycare
facility.
Kindermusik Family time (newborn and up)
In this multi-age, multi-child Kindermusik Family time class, you'll see how
music helps you family laugh together, share, take turns and how musical
learning really can be a family thing. How your little one watches the older one
and learns from him. How early exposure to rhythm and rhyme develops the skills
they need now and later in school. Unique home materials are designed to work
together to provide a fully integrated learning experience, one that helps your
children develop lasting learning skills. Each set includes - one hand puppet
and one finger puppet, two instruments, two story books, two CDs and the Sing,
Play and Grow activity book. Find out

ABC, Music and Me (2 to 4s)
Children who are in nursery, playgroup, preschool and creches can now
participate in a 30 minute high quality music and movement programme without
their parents in attendance. Each lesson emphasises a different area of the
child's development - confidence, co-ordination, vocal expression, careful
listening and early exposure to reading skills. Weekly parent communication lets
a parent know what their child is learning. The home kit includes a full colour
family guide magazine, home CD and instrument every other month to allow the
learning and music making to continue at home.

Surrey County Arts have teamed with the Music Industries Association to promote all the positive aspects of making music in their Get Alive campaign. Kindermusik
totally support the campaign’s ‘ Music makes you smarter’ findings which state
that “Music plays an important role in children’s brain development and their
early education. Quality music education, especially at an early age can open
the door to important benefits”. Indeed experts, like Don Campbell, Carla
Hannaford and Anne Green Gilbert who have worked closely with Kindermusik have
been citing the benefits of following the Kindermusik programme for a number of
years
